What Will Heaven Be Like?

Heaven will be a place of perfect beauty, peace, holiness, and joy in the presence of God. It will be far more wonderful than anything our minds can fully imagine.

The Bible says:

“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
—1 Corinthians 2:9

There will be no more death, pain, sickness, sorrow, or separation. Every tear will be wiped away, and everything caused by sin will be gone forever.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.”
—Revelation 21:4

Heaven will shine with the glory of God. There will be no need for the sun or moon, because the Lord Himself will be its everlasting light. The Bible describes a glorious city with gates of pearl and streets like pure gold.

But the greatest joy of heaven will not be its beauty—it will be seeing Jesus. We shall be with the Saviour who loved us and gave His life for us. We will worship Him, serve Him, and enjoy His presence forever.

There will be no temptation, hatred, loneliness, fear, or disappointment. God’s people will be reunited, clothed in righteousness, and made perfectly whole. Nothing will ever again disturb their peace.

Jesus said:

“In my Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you.”
—John 14:2

Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. We do not enter it through our good works or religion, but by repenting of our sins and trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ upon the cross.

Heaven will be our everlasting home—a place where night never falls, joy never ends, love never fails, and we shall forever be with the Lord.
